About Futeys

The kitchen takes taurine out. Nothing else puts it back.

You grind the meat. You portion the batches. You've done more research than most vets expect. And still — taurine, the one nutrient that causes permanent blindness and heart failure when it goes missing, is also the one your kitchen quietly destroys. Futeys is the only taurine powder built for the way home-feeders actually cook.

Why Futeys exists

The recipe is right. The bowl might not be.

Boiling destroys up to 83% of the taurine in meat. Grinding, freezing and thawing take more. The heart you added on Tuesday may not cover what the cooking took out by Sunday.

Cats can't synthesise enough taurine on their own. They need it from food every single day — and they don't store it well. That means every batch of homemade food that falls short is a day the body quietly borrows from the heart muscle and the retina.

The damage is silent. Retinal degeneration can begin months before a cat shows any sign of it. Taurine-deficiency blindness does not come back. That's not a reason to panic — it's a reason to close the gap now, with one measured scoop, every batch. That's the only reason Futeys exists.

Who it's for

Every ad targets every cat. We only care about yours.

Cats on complete food don't need this. Home-prep cats almost certainly do. Most brands won't tell you the difference. We will.

  • Futeys is for you if…

You make your cat's food — raw, home-cooked, batch-frozen, frankenprey, or a senior who will only eat boiled chicken. Home-prepared food is where taurine goes missing. You are the exact reason this product exists, and every scoop is doing real work.

  • You don't need it if…

Your cat eats a food labelled complete — kibble, tins or pouches. Complete foods include taurine by law, and a healthy cat eating them is already covered. Same for homemade recipes built on a premix that already contains taurine: check the label first. If it's covered, don't buy this. We mean that.

  • Not sure?

Bring your recipe to your vet. If your cat has a murmur, a recent diagnosis, or a taurine-linked condition, your vet leads — not us, not any supplement brand. We'll tell you the same thing if you email us.

What's in the tub

100% taurine. Not 80% filler and 20% wishful thinking.

Most taurine products for cats are quietly padded. One leading brand is 80% maltodextrin — a cheap filler that does nothing for your cat. Others come in capsules you have to break open, or dose in fractions of a teaspoon calibrated for a single cat on a single meal, which means nothing when you're cooking in batches.

Futeys is 100% pure L-taurine. Nothing else in the bag. No fillers, no flavourings, no anti-caking agents, no blend to obscure what you're actually giving your cat.

The included scoop is calibrated per 500 g of home-prepared food — so you dose per batch, not per meal guess. It's odourless and tasteless at that amount, and mixes into wet, raw or cooked food without trace. If your cat needs a therapeutic amount, your vet will tell you exactly what that is.

The science, plainly

Taurine deficiency is silent until it isn't — and then it's too late

Cats are obligate carnivores that cannot synthesise adequate taurine. They need it every day for normal heart muscle function, healthy eyesight, and fat digestion. Without enough of it, taurine-deficiency heart disease and central retinal degeneration follow. The heart damage can largely reverse when caught early. Vision loss does not come back.

The detail most supplement brands skip: a cat on a taurine-deficient diet may show no symptoms for three to seven months. By the time you notice something is wrong, the retina has already changed — often irreversibly. Waiting for signs means waiting too long.

Taurine alone doesn't make a homemade recipe complete. But for home-prep feeders, it's the one variable that cooking and preparation actively destroy — and the one that a single measured scoop, added to every batch, permanently fixes. Everything else your recipe requires, you're already doing.
